When I was a child in Taiwan, I would go to great lengths to avoid bath time – crying, screaming, even pretending to be dead. It wasn't because I disliked being clean; rather, regular soaps and shampoos would irritate my skin, leaving it red and uncomfortable. Even the "gentler" products would sting or burn. We tried everything, from pharmaceutical brands recommended by dermatologists to naturally-made items, but nothing seemed to work for my sensitive skin.

One day, my grandmother brought home a surprising solution – Soapberries. These little fruits, used for washing by indigenous people before the invention of soap, lathered up magically without bothering my skin at all.
